    Bedding Specialists Malouf, ZZZest Showing in High Point

    for First Time at Oct. 19-24 Market


    High Point, N.C. (October 4, 2013) – Bedding specialists Malouf and ZZZest are making their High Point debuts at the October market in new showrooms in the bedding area on floors 5 and 6 of the IHFC’s Main wing.


    Malouf, based in Logan, Utah, specializes in five brands of products — Z® specialty pillows, Sleep Tite® mattress protectors, Malouf Fine Linens®, Isolus® mattress toppers and Structures™ steel bed frames. The 10-year-old company will be exhibiting in Space 633 of the IHFC’s Main wing during the High Point Market, which takes place Oct. 19-24.


    “Until recently, most of our growth has been ‘organic,’ ” said Mike Douglas, general manager. “We showed at our very first trade show at the Las Vegas Market this summer, and our space was filled with activity the whole week. Since we’re expanding our distribution in the East, and have grown our sales force from 10 reps to 45, it only makes sense for us to show in High Point, too, making it easy for retailers to shop our growing line.”


    Malouf offers bedding specialists, furniture retailers and other sleep product stores a one-stop source for a wide range of bedding accessories, according to Douglas. “We feature 18 lines of specialty pillows with a technology to match every bed on the retail floor, from latex, gel and memory foam to down alternatives and specialized profiles and densities. We also offer five protector models, four types of toppers and seven different lines of sheets, ranging from $14 to $250 a set (wholesale).”


    The breadth of Malouf’s accessories line “makes us an excellent addition to any store that carries mattresses,” said Douglas. “Retailers can get anything they need, in a range of price points and constructions, from one source.”


    At the October market, Malouf will introduce an updated “bed in a bag” concept featuring a queen-sized comforter, microfiber sheet set and two down alternative pillows for $55 wholesale. Other introductions include an eco-friendly bamboo sheet line.


    The company also will show new packaging and display concepts, including interactive, touch-screen display kiosks.


    Along with a network of warehouses in Utah where the company is headquartered, Malouf recently added a second 100,000-square-foot distribution facility in Gretna, Va. The two warehouses enable Malouf to service retailers anywhere in the country with two- to three-day shipping. The company offers free shipping in the continental U.S. on all qualifying orders.


    Malouf sources its products from factories in the United States, Italy and China.


    ZZZest, an Alpine, Utah-based mattress manufacturer, also is making its High Point debut, exhibiting in a 3,500-square-foot showroom in Space 513 of the IHFC’s Main wing. The new company, launched earlier this year, showed for the first time this summer at the Las Vegas Market.


    “With our location on floor 5 of the IHFC, we’ll be right in the center of the bedding action during the October market,” said Tony Pearce, president of ZZZest. “Our new line generated a great response at the summer show in Las Vegas, and we expect to build on that momentum in High Point.”


    At the High Point Market, ZZZest is spotlighting a new line of high-tech mattresses called The Tribrid™ Series. Tribrid mattresses feature a unique blend of three components — high-end zoned pocketed coils and luxury specialty foams topped by a layer of ZZZest’s proprietary, fully breathable cooling gel, Breathe™. Foam options include high-density deluxe foam, memory foam or latex.


    “It’s a triple combination of real gel, real comfort and real support,” said Pearce. “Breathe™ plus Hybrid equals Tribrid™.”


    Pearce added that ZZZest also is featuring a selection of “amazing pillows with Breathe™ gel on both sides of the latex or memory foam cushioning.”


    A leader in the development of gel and foam cushioning technologies, ZZZest’s target distribution includes specialty bedding retailers, furniture stores and department stores, added Pearce.


    ZZZest produces all the high-tech gel cushioning and cooling components for its bedding line at its 90,000-square-foot Utah facility. The company assembles its mattresses at 13 partner factories, providing quick-ship service to retailers throughout the United States at delivered pricing.
