    Top designers and tastemakers set to takeover Spring Market with exciting happenings and events,

    hosted throughout International Market Center’s many design destinations

     

    HIGH POINT—March 28, 2014—The Spring High Point Market, running April 5-10, will be abuzz with interior designers, trend-setters and bloggers sharing their favorite reasons to attend Market and dishing about the exciting products that will debut. International Market Centers (IMC) is sponsoring a number of new initiatives—including displays, tours, and engaging social media promotions—aimed to connect market attendees to the best designers and products throughout High Point Market.

    @DesignOnHPMKT—IMC recently launched its social media profile, @DesignOnHPMKT on Instagram, soon-to-be rolled out across IMC’s other social sharing platforms. Attendees of High Point Market can connect with top designers and bloggers who will be sharing their inspirations each day, including their favorite showrooms, products, social events and much more. Friday’s @DesignOnHPMKT Instagram take-over starts with guest posts from Gretchen Aubuchon (Fashion + Décor) and Matthew Frederick (M. Frederick Interiors). Saturday’s @DesignOnHPMKT feed will feature Corey Damen Jenkins (DWV Design with Vision), Christian May (Maison 21) and Dwayne Clark (Century Furniture). On Sunday, the lenses of Crystal Palecek (Rue Magazine), Tobi Fairley (Toby Fairley Design) and Julia Buckingham Edelmann (Buckingham Interiors) will be front and center. Lisa Mende (Mende Design) and Marisa Marcantonio (StyleBeat) will dominate @DesignOnHPMKT on Monday.     Back by Popular Demand: Suite Spot Tours—Bloggers and designers not only have their finger on the pulse of what is hot today, they often influence consumer demand tomorrow. Market attendees who want a first-hand look at what trend-setters think is hot at market can spend an hour on an intimate guided tour with one of four top designers who will share their favorite finds on all three floors of The Suites at Market Square. On Sunday, April 6th the talented Julia Buckingham Edelmann (Buckingham Interiors) will lead the first tour at 2 pm, followed by the delightful Crystal Palecek (Rue Magazine) at 2:30 pm. On Monday, April 7th market attendees can take what will be enlightening and entertaining look of The Suites at Market Square with Christian May (Maison 21) at 2 pm, or choose to catch up with the cool Corey Damen Jenkins (DWV Design with Vision) at 2:30 pm.     Designer Displays—To showcase the many design resources found in IMC’s buildings, Madcap Cottage Founders John Loecke and Jason Oliver Nixon along with Bradshaw Orrell of Orrell Interiors will curate two stunning displays. The first display, designed by Madcap Cottage, will be located in the Market Square Courtyard and will feature product from exhibitors in the 200/320/330 N. Hamilton buildings. A champagne toast and meet and greet with designers will be held on Saturday at 3:45 pm at Market Square. A second display, designed by Orrell, will be located in the courtyard area in front of 330 N. Hamilton Street that will showcase products from Market Square exhibitors. A champagne toast and meet and greet with Orrell will be held on Sunday at 4:15pm at Hamilton.

     

    About the designers—Madcap Cottage is an interior design firm based in High Point and New York whose creations reflect a deep-seated understanding of tradition amped-up with playful patterns and color. Orrell Interiors was founded by Bradshaw Orrell in 2007; one of the firm’s first projects was the Proximity Hotel in Greensboro, N.C., which was the first platinum green hotel in the country. Bradshaw’s residential projects are known for a traditional design with a crisp, clean, modern edge.
