Henglin Chair, Kinfine Showing in New Furniture Plaza Showrooms

     at October High Point Market

High Point, N.C. (Wednesday October 9, 2013) – Upholstery sources Henglin Chair and Kinfine will be exhibiting in new showrooms in Furniture Plaza at the Oct. 19-24 High Point Market.

Henglin Chair, a factory-direct upholstery resource, will be making its High Point debut in a 14,000-square foot showroom in Space 407 of Furniture Plaza. The 15-year-old company produces its entire line at an 850,000-square-foot, company-owned facility in Zhejiang Province, China. The line includes sofas, sectionals, accent chairs, motion sofas and chairs, and lift chairs in transitional and contemporary styling. Price points range from $399 to $799 retail for stationary sofas; $699 to $999 for stationary sectionals; and $699 to $999 for motion. A wide range of quality fabric and leather covers are available, including bonded leathers.

“For the past four years, we’ve been selling our line here only through other U.S. importers,” said Kevin Gallagher, vice president of sales and marketing for North America. “As our U.S. business has grown, we’ve seen an opportunity to establish our own factory-direct program for retailers. We’re now offering a complete line of on-trend upholstery to retailers at very sharp values. The fact that we own our own mechanism and chrome facility enables us to deliver great quality at exciting price points.”

Gallagher added that the company’s designs, which incorporate metal accents and other contemporary-influenced style details, are designed to appeal to younger Generation X and Millennial consumers.

Henglin Chair offers mixed-container shipping with quick-ship options. The U.S. sales operation, including customer service, is based in Chicago. A new sales representative force being formed will be directed by Gallagher, a furniture veteran and former owner of Prime Resources International.

With this new venture, Henglin Chair is targeting Top 100 furniture stores as well as smaller independents, Gallagher said. The company also exports its products to leading markets throughout the world, including Europe, Japan and other Asian markets.

Also showing in a new permanent Furniture Plaza showroom this market is Kinfine, a factory-direct accent furniture resource, whose line includes occasional furniture, ottomans, benches, fabric headboards, dining chairs, barstools, accent chairs, accent tables and juvenile items. The company is showing in a 4,100-square-foot showroom in Space 500 of Furniture Plaza. It previously showed in the IHFC’s Hamilton wing.

“Our new showroom is twice the size of our old location, so we’ll be able to show a full representation of all our categories now,” said Jennifer Schock, senior vice president. “Having more space gives us the ability to create more trend vignettes that spotlight specific color and fashion directions. This approach, which is similar to what we do in our Las Vegas showroom, gives our retailers a better sense for how our products can work on their own floors — and in the consumer’s home.”

At market, Kinfine will be introducing a variety of new juvenile items in “fun, fresh colors,” said Schock. “We’ll also feature a number of new accent chairs.”

Kinfine’s U.S. operation is headquartered in Chino, Calif., where it has a distribution facility. An additional sales office is located in Minneapolis. The company offers both a domestic warehouse program and a drop-ship program from the Chino location, as well as direct-container shipping from its production facility in China. The company sells a mix of traditional furniture stores, major discount and department stores, lifestyle specialists and e-commerce retailers.

“We’re known for our value pricing, logistical execution, fast-turn service and custom capabilities,” said Schock. “Each retailer can work with us to customize their accent furniture assortment, and we can make it happen at a low cost.”

“The addition of Henglin Chair and Kinfine adds two more strong upholstery sources to Furniture Plaza’s exhibitor mix,” said Julie Messner, vice president of leasing for International Market Centers. “They expand the range of options for retailers seeking high-value, factory-direct products.”
