The holiday shopping season is rapidly approaching, and with Black Friday and Cyber Monday around the corner, furniture retailers are tasked with updating their holiday strategies for one of the busiest shopping seasons ever. After experiencing last year’s holiday season under lockdown restrictions and in smaller groups, consumer demand for furniture is expected to remain strong this year as more people prepare to host family gatherings and celebrations for the holidays. What’s more, after a year of closures, consumers are more eager to spend.
As furniture retailers prepare for the holiday rush, Mike Rittler, General Manager, Retail Card Services and Personal Lending at TD Bank, will share his outlook on key drivers and considerations for retail executives this season, answering questions like: With more consumers hosting family for the holidays this season, will there be an increase in purchases off the showroom floor over placing custom orders? How will inflation and supply chain constraints impact holiday spending this season, particularly on more expensive items, and what can furniture retailers do to prepare? As the economy continues to recover from the pandemic, are lower debt levels and higher liquidity expected to fuel a strong holiday shopping season? During his presentation, Mike will support his outlook on these questions and more with findings from TD’s latest Retail Experience Index, which tracks consumers’ purchasing habits, primarily on big-ticket items, to further uncover the trends and factors moving the economic needle.

Vetting and acquiring new clients is one of the tasks that many designers have an aversion to, but when a referral or an inquiry comes in, many designers expend time and effort reinventing the wheel because they don't have a clear and simple process for responding. Equally important, you may have been thinking about ways you can be more efficient and streamline your non-design tasks, and our goal is to offer you a solution. In this webinar, Genevieve Trousdale, founder of Circaphiles, and Gain Baral, Mindset Coach and Business Strategy Mentor for Creative Business Owners, will share valuable tips on how to master a discovery call, create an authentic connection with your client, strategies to help you spot “the good clients” and the confidence to elegantly walk away when the voice in your head is telling you to "run".
