Media Bulletin: IMC To Close High Point Properties to Public in Compliance with Government Order

HIGH POINT, N.C. – March 26, 2020 – In line with the “stay-at-home” order by Guilford County, Greensboro and High Point officials, International Market Centers (IMC) will temporarily close its 17 High Point properties to the public beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday, March 27. The closure, which is in effect through April 16, aims to help slow the spread of COVID-19.

“The COVID-19 situation continues to be highly fluid and we appreciate the patience and partnership of our tenants as we react in real time to this new local government order,” said Bob Maricich, IMC CEO. “Health and safety is our top priority and we will fully comply with all government orders that promote the welfare of our customers, our staff and our community.”

IMC tenants and staff still will have access to the buildings for essential business support, provided appropriate social distancing is observed. IMC’s 17 properties in High Point are: 300 E. Green St.; 300 S. Main St.; Commerce & Design Building; Furniture Plaza; Historic Market Square; International Home Furnishings Center (IHFC); Klaussner on Hamilton; Market Square Textile Tower; National Furniture Mart; Plaza Suites; Showplace; the Suites at Market Square; and five on Hamilton Street – 121, 200, 320 and 330 N. Hamilton St., and 129 S. Hamilton St.

This government order comes one week after High Point Market Authority announced new dates for the postponed Spring High Point Market. Originally scheduled April 25-29, the postponement followed NC Governor Roy Cooper’s advisement to cancel all events drawing 100+ attendees due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Spring High Point Market now is scheduled to run June 12-14.
