Southern Motion, Inc. Relocates to Furniture Plaza for Spring High Point Market
Signs Long-term Lease for 50,000 Square-Foot Showroom, Doubling Space
High Point, NC – (February 1, 2016) – Leading reclining and motion furniture manufacturer Southern Motion announced that the company has signed a long-term lease for a 50,000 square-foot permanent showroom—dramatically expanding their former space – at Furniture Plaza starting in April 2016.
“A showroom in the heart of High Point Market gives us better access to buyers and provides an ideal opportunity to grow our business,” explains Roger Bland, Chief Executive Officer of Southern Motion.
“As we continue to grow and expand, we realized the need for a significantly larger space,” added G. Lipscomb, Executive Vice President of Southern Motion. “IMC provided the right location for us. Key channels for us to expand include furniture stores, catalogue and internet companies, as well as big box stores. We believe Furniture Plaza is a premier venue for us because those channels shop there consistently.”
Centrally located on Main Street in the heart of High Point Market, Furniture Plaza home to name-brand popularly priced lines, including La-Z-Boy, Pride Mobility, Jofran, Legends, Kuka Home, Cozzia, Man-Wah, England and more. The property boasts 7 floors and more than 300,000 square feet of permanent showrooms, with a central escalator atrium for convenient access and ease of navigation.

In its new High Point showroom, Southern Motion will showcase their unique special order and custom cut business complete product line of high-quality motion furniture – with 400 different fabric and 36 different leather options – all available on any motion group or recliner in the product line.
