Thank you for joining, and reading, my blog post. I was very excited to be chosen for the spring 2019 High Point Market Designer Finds. This gives me a chance to share some of my favorite items I like to select for clients and use in my projects! I am going to focus on the items that I selected before market and highlight them some more. If you’d like to see me talk about these items ‘live’ then please visit my Instagram and watch the videos I did during market.
First things first, the Regina Andrew Beretta Lamp. How can you not love this? The blend of the concrete base, with the subtle brass top that leads into the harp & finial, and then of course to finish it off with a soft linen shade. This is the perfect example of mixing textures in design. I love mixing metals, stone, and fabric, so this lamp does it for me!
Next we have the Dekker Chair from Bernhardt Furniture. Love, love, LOVE this chair! It has great leather strap arms, a solid, heavy iron base that’s powder coated in an aged nickel finish, and you can customize the fabric that you want upholstered on it. So much character and sits comfortably as well for a tight back/tight seat chair. So much to love about this chair! It’ll take two people to move it, so make sure it’s in a spot that you want it to be in for a while.
My next pick for you is the Hooker Furniture Chairside Table. This was a recent find right before market and I am so glad I came across it! I have not used it in a project yet, but it is specified for an upcoming big one! Love the blend of the iron finished base with travertine stone top. This is definitely one of the more contemporary pieces that I chose, but mixing design elements is what transitional design is all about.
My next pick for you is the GO Home Ltd Venus Light. If I’m choosing a light fixture for your home, 9 times out of a 10 it is going to be an open orb fixture like this one. This one I like because it mixes the elements of traditional and contemporary so well. An open orb fixture gives off great light to a space and casts a very cool shadow on the ceiling when lit up. Go on, check it out for yourself!
My final Designer Find pick for you is the Surya Athena Rug 5156 in Navy. The darker, rich colors are coming back into style now, but for me, Navy never went out. I love using blues for my accent color in my projects, so this rug is perfect for that. The pattern is just enough to make it interesting and you can never go wrong with a 100% wool medium pile rug.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my finds. See more on my Instagram page! Maybe this gave you some inspiration for your next project. Let me know! Thank you again for taking the time to read this and I cannot wait to see what the fall 2019 High Point Market has in store!
